After receiving a dental crown or bridge, refrain from eating for at least 2 hours or until the anesthesia has fully worn off.
A temporary crown or bridge will have been placed to protect your exposed teeth and prevent shifting while your final restoration is being prepared. To maintain the integrity of this temporary restoration, avoid sticky foods such as gum or caramels, which may dislodge it. You can brush your teeth normally but ensure you pull floss through gently rather than lifting it upward to avoid displacing the temporary crown or bridge. If your temporary restoration comes off, you can place it back onto your tooth and contact our office for re-cementing.
Once your final crown or bridge has been placed, resume your regular brushing and flossing routine. If you notice any discomfort or an unbalanced bite, please call our office to schedule an adjustment appointment.
